Hosted by Cape Breton Partnership, in collaboration with Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), the Nova Scotia Department of Labour and Advanced Education, the Nova Scotia Department of Fisheries, Louisbourg Seafoods Limited and the Nova Scotia Community College, the Best Practices and Skills Planning Workshop for Nova Scotia's Fish and Shellfish Facilities brought together and connected individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in the advancement of Nova Scotia's Seafood sector.
All efforts were made to deliver a conference format that provided an engaging and informative content for the conference registrants. The goals were to:
During this workshop, participants learned about the United Kingdom’s fish and shellfish certificate, diploma and apprenticeship programs and participated in interactive round table discussions regarding the requirements for fish and shellfish skills programs within Nova Scotia.
